End of Year Shopping

I am officially shopped out.  I didn't know it could happen.  My mom and I have hit up just about every possible store.  Today we spent the afternoon at the outlet mall, where I finally picked up a formal dress for the Los Angeles Engineers Banquet.  Yesterday we stopped by Borders to pick up a few bargain books with the gift cards from my great-great-aunt Milda.  I picked up three books for $4 each, and the cashier said the balance was the highest she's ever told anyone...I have $87 left!  I found a great book that I've almost finished already - All You Need to Be Impossibly French.  I definitely recommend it.
Yesterday's outfit:

Urban Holiday

Today my mom and I went to Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza malls for some after Christmas shopping.  Our best stop of the day was in Urban Outfitters.  The whole sale section was an additional 50% off and all holiday decor was 75% off.  We picked up ornaments for both my parents' Christmas tree and mine.  Our favorite purchase were two Linus blankets for only $9 each!
Owl ornament for $0.99
Bird ornament for $0.99
Good luck ornament for $0.99
Pickle ornament for $1.99
Six Cupcake ornaments for $1.99
Chelsea Chelsea Bang Bang hardcover for $5

Plus my outfit of the day includes a new dress that my mom bought me from Target earlier in my visit.

Scarf

I tried wearing a scarf with my outfit today.  It's a first for me.  I've always been uncomfortable with the idea because I was afraid of adding too much bulk to my chest.  I think it actually worked today!  I didn't want to pack clothes specifically for today, Georgia Tech's bowl game, so I just threw in a scarf.

More Snow.

Overnight we didn't get more snow, but it got colder and windier.  The wind blew some snow off of roofs and trees.  Later in the afternoon it began to snow again.  It's supposed to be below freezing tomorrow too! I braved the cold for a few minutes for my outfit pictures.  It's worth it for the pretty backdrop!

I did my nails today with a nail polish I received for Christmas, OPI for Sephora Merry Me.

Merry Christmas!!

Today we made a great breakfast (biscuits, country ham, sausage, and scrambled eggs with peppers, onions, and mushrooms), opened gifts, ate our holiday dinner at the next door neighbors' house, watched A Christmas Story, awed at the snow, and watched football.  It was a great holiday.  First up, my outfit.
Sweater: Banana Republic
Skirt: LOFT Outlet
Tights: American Apparel
Socks: gift exchange in college
Earrings: no clue (too old)
Boots (not shown): Target

Yet another favorite Christmas movie.

And proof that it snowed!  It was just a little at first...

But then it kept snowing all day long and started to stick to the ground.

They're predicting more snow overnight and tomorrow, plus two days of freezing temperatures.  This is crazy for Georgia!  I hope everyone is having a safe and fun holiday!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Today I wore my holiday dress during the day.  I used brown to dress it down for daytime.  I spent the day going out to lunch, running a few errands, grocery shopping, and napping.  Tonight my parents and I are watching our favorite holiday movies.

Like a Christmas Gift

Today was my first full day in Georgia visiting my parents.  It was also my first day with luggage.  Delta *forgot* to put my suitcase on my flight.  Of course they lied to me and insisted that it got onto the plane and would arrive by 4 pm yesterday.  After calling the SkyMiles Silver Medallion line I finally got the phone number for the delivery company, a $50 credit, and a new expected delivery time.  Thankfully it was on the porch when I woke up, complete with a new luggage tag that said "Found at LAX baggage room 0400" and DL 2154, which was a flight yesterday that arrived in Atlanta at 1:30 pm.  I took the red eye on Saturday night, so they didn't send my bag from LAX until after I reported it missing.  Ugh.

Today wore a new belt from Anthropologie, and I pointed out that my outfit was holiday-ish complete with a bow like a Christmas gift.  My mom said I was her Christmas gift.  :)

Holiday Ads

I love the Target commercials for the holidays this year.  So much so that I downloaded the playlist of songs they're using (you should too!).  I definitely got compliments on my holiday playlist at my party last weekend because of these songs.  I love this commercial in particular because it reminds me how you don't have to have a big house or much space to create a great holiday party.

Must See - Scott Pilgrim vs. the World

When I watch tv and movies in my living room alone, I tend to get up and dance along to songs or pace about.  However I think I spent the majority of this movie on my feet, it's that good!  I wish I had spent the $6 towards buying the dvd rather than renting it on demand.

Anthropologie Sale Scores

Yesterday I hit up my local Anthropologie store after work to take advantage of the extra 25% off of sale deal.  I picked up a skirt, top, belt, & tights all for $69!  I wore the new skirt and tights today to work.

Red Dress

In college I got to walk in a charity fashion show, Red Dress, for the American Heart Association.  However, I was the one girl that didn't get to actually wear a red dress.  They put me in a red suit instead.  Today I actually wore a red dress.  I have two pictures, without and with flash.  I liked this outfit a lot more in real life than in these pictures.
Dress: Gap
Cardigan: Banana Republic
Tights: American Apparel
Shoes: Naturalizer

And just so you can see the red suit from college...

Outfit of Last Week

It's nice to have an outfit that I forgot to post last week, so I can still put up a post today.  I put together a comfy and casual version of a skirt suit.  The sweater fits similar to a blazer.  I actually added a gold owl necklace from Forever 21 after taking this picture.

Skirt & tights: American Apparel

I Apologize.

Not to you, to a nurse.  So, I haven't been feeling great lately, very tired.  Last week I went to the doctor for blood work, and when I got the results today, I yelled at the nurse.  Not my proudest moment.  I feel bad for yelling at her because she was just the messenger, but I was very frustrated.  I'm going back to the doctor tomorrow, hopefully things will go better.  Not sure why I'm sharing this with you...oh yeah.  Being tired is my excuse for not wearing make-up today.

Holiday Classic 5k at Universal Studios Backlot

Last Sunday I participated in a 5k at Universal Studios.  Because the race was very crowded and hilly, I chose to walk most of it.  I still jogged some, and the results are online.  I finished in 45 minutes, 61st out of 120 in my age group.
Whoville set

I stopped to pose with the creepiest guy from the tram tour at the Bates Motel.
