Cat + Snuggie

Lunch and the Mall Outfit

I went out to lunch at O'Charley's with my mom and her work friends yesterday.  It was fun, but it reassured me that I'm in absolutely no rush to have kids!  They're cute for about 3 minutes...then my patience runs out.  And there were only 4 kids there - two of which were on their best behavior.  I'm amazed at the amount of patience my mom and her friends all have.  They all teach (or used to teach before having their own kids) kindergarten or 1st grade.  Twenty 6 year olds in one room frightens me!  After lunch, Mom and I went to Northpoint mall for the normal after-Christmas exchanges and gift card shopping.  She did pretty good at Macy's ... got a ruffled cardigan and earrings.  I tried to find these jeans to try on, but neither Dillards nor Macy's carry Citizens of Humanity jeans.  I'll have to check my mall when I'm home.

Another outfit with leggings and pockets!  Plus the fuzzy boots return because I have zero tolerance for cold weather.  I actually wore this with a cardigan most of the day, but I preferred how it looks without it.

Lunch and Movie Outfit

Met up with a college friend for lunch today at the Flying Biscuit Cafe - best grits I've ever had!  It was a lot of fun to catch up with my friend.  So glad we got to meet up!

Dress: LOFT Outlet
Cardigan: Division
Boots: Wal-mart
Bracelet: Tiffany's
Ring: Overstock.com
Earrings: Vendor at the farmer's market at the Van Nuys, CA, courthouse
Tights: had them too long to remember, probably Target

I really wish I had my camera cable - the outfit photos taken with my iPhone just do not capture any detail.  The dress is fitted under the bust and has a lace top with buttons.  The tights have a diamond pattern.  The earrings are round Swarovski crystal beads on silver chains.

Went to see Up in the Air with my mom today too.  Great movie!  I loved the cinematography and the music.  I highly recommend it!

Christmas Day

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!  I had a relaxing day.  Lots of goodies too.  The pets were great with their presents...very entertaining.  Dinner was wonderful but unfortunately we devoured ALL of it before I got any pictures!  You'll have to trust me that it was beautiful and very tasty.  We made a beef tenderloin, roasted potatoes, asparagus, and crescent rolls.

We had some really pretty presents.

Merry Christmas!

Twas the night before Christmas...

Nog and hot cider for Dad and me

And cookies for Santa!
Goodnight!

Pre-Christmas Cheer!

Photos of Christmas-y things that I had on my iPhone...

Charlie Brown tree from Urban Outfitters...my only holiday decoration at work

Christmas tree in my apartment living room

Christmas tree in my apartment bedroom

Ornament my mom gave me last year (Spode)

Proof that I love my cat - I bought her a water fountain for Christmas

Random bakery window my mom and I saw while doing holiday shopping...I love this cake.  So much.

Most random thing I've seen in a long time.  Turkeys.  Fat farm raised ones.  Sitting on the side of the road, waiting for the first red-neck in a truck to pick them up for a freebie Christmas dinner.  How in the world did they get there?  There aren't any farms nearby!!  This is suburban Georgia.

Christmas Eve Outfit

Casual outfit for running errands and hanging out at the neighbors' house on Christmas Eve.  I was really grateful to get to hang out and talk with someone my age - the neighbors' son is home for the holidays as well.

All my pictures were taken with my iPhone today.  I cannot wait to have my camera cable so I can post higher quality pictures!

Tunic: Aerie
Leggings: American Apparel
Tank (not really showing): Jockey
Belt: Ribbon leftover from gift wrapping

Boots: Franco Fortini (Rack Room Shoes)

Make-up: Benefit Celebutante (LOVE this kit)
Earrings: Discount store ... have had them too long to remember which

The tunic from Aerie and the boots were early Christmas gifts from my parents.  The boots were only $45 (marked down from over $100) and the tunic was only $15 in the store!  After looking up the link for the Aerie tunic I realize that it's sold as a nightshirt, but I think it makes a great tunic for daytime!

Lack of Pictures

I apologize in advance.  My post won't include many pictures for a week or so.  I'm visiting my parents in Georgia, and I forgot the cable for my camera.  I love the holidays though, so I'm still taking a lot of pictures, which I will do my best to post once I'm back home.

Today was a day of Christmas preparations - we bought groceries at the Dekalb Farmer's Market and baked cookies.  We use the original Betty Crocker Cooky Book recipe for spritz....the cutest, tastiest, and easiest cookies ever!  I love them.

Mom also helped me paint my nails a wonderful shade of gold.

First Blog!

After reading my friend Sahiti's blog for quite a while, I finally started my own! The theme of this is how fashion is harder than rocket science but also way more fun! Yes, my day job is actually rocket science, but I try really hard not to be too much of a geek outside of work. I consider myself still in the learning phase of my personal style. I'm working on it. I also LOVE to find great deals. My mom really taught me well how to bargain hunt. I try my best to balance my impatient nature with her bargain hunting skills. On here I plan to share with you the deals I find and my wishlist items. Hopefully you can help me decide what works and what doesn't.

Muah! Thanks for reading!
