Inspired by seeing this on Animal Planet today, I thought I'd share some cute pictures of Zadie.

School Spirit
Since I'm so excited about watching the GT game tomorrow morning, I thought I'd post an outfit I wore to watch the game two weeks ago. I'm not a fan of wearing just a school t-shirt, I love finding creative ways to show school spirit.

Sunshine & Orange Muscat
On Labor Day my friends and I decided we needed something to do, so I suggested we go wine tasting. Who knew there would be such an awesome winery in LA?
Dress: Victoria's Secret
Shoes: Cynthia Vincent for Target
Cardigan: Banana Republic
Belt: Target
Necklace: Cost Plus World Market
Earrings: Savannah Art Market
Sunglasses: Ray Ban
I loved the look of the cardigan over the dress, but it ended up being hot at the winery. Oh well, the dress is pretty!

Sometimes we need reminded...
I'm really bummed to be missing this concert tonight, so I figured I'd at least share this song with you. It's definitely my favorite song on the radio right now. Now if only I could find a guy to say all these things to me.

My Fashion's Night Out Recap
So I realize I haven't posted in forever, but it's because I have the crud. You know, the crud that everyone in the office gets and no matter how much Purell you use or how many times you wash your hands, you end up with it. And it sucks. This one is like a cold except my body aches like crazy. It's not bad enough to take a few sick days, but bad enough to feel miserable and whine and complain when I end up working a long day. And take a few days off from blogging.
Now, back to FNO. I went to the celebration at my local mall, Westfield Topanga. Although it wasn't very well advertised, the events sounded like fun. Unfortunately, due to the meager amount of advertisements, it was super SLOW. The stores were almost empty. It was kind of sad. Luckily my friend Jen and I had fun trying on $300+ shoes at Stuart Weitzman while drinking champagne with blackberries and eating brownies and cheese straws. We also stopped by BeutiFeel for Godiva chocolates, Bare Escentuals for cookies and a mini-makeover, Free People for more snacks, and Kate Spade for the best sparkling juice ever. I felt so bad for the retailers, the mall REALLY should have advertised it more. In LA most people probably went to Rodeo Drive, because they advertised food trucks and a carnival, and Beverly Center, because the Mayor endorsed that event. Topanga was the only mall in my part of town that participated. It's a fantastic mall, and more locals should have attended!
Now, here's what I wore, super comfortable and I felt appropriate to be browsing in expensive stores.

Society of Women Engineers
I'm a member of the Society of Women Engineers, and I have been since I enrolled in college in 2003. I'm currently in my second term as a section representative for the Los Angeles section to the region level. On August 28 we had a lunch at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co, the first event I planned on my own! I was so happy everyone had a good time. Here's a picture of the attendees sitting on the Forest Gump bench with fake shoes. If you want to know anything more about SWE, always feel free to ask!
